Some of the Punchakitten team entered a chili contest under the theme of 1986 entertainment. And what was more entertaining in 1986 than the threat of nuclear holocaust that was exemplified by the Chernobyl meltdown. So fire up you reactors and ready the cooling tanks for this sweet heat chili. It's the bomb...

1 1 lb (ground) Italian Sausage
1 Green pepper diced
1 Red pepper diced
1 Orange or Yellow pepper diced
2 ears of corn, grilled
1/2 Large Sweet Onion diced
8 oz pkg. sliced mushrooms
2 (14oz) can fire roasted diced tomatoes
1 cans (14.5 oz.) drained white kidney beans
1 cans (14.5 oz.) drained pinto beans
1/2 large fresh pineapple, cut into fine wedges or diced
5 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp Habenero sauce or more to heat preference
6 Cloves Pressed Garlic
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp Sugar
Salt & Pepper to taste
Basil & oregano to taste

Directions

Brown meat, drain off grease. Cut kernels from corn cobs, add to crock pot with all other ingredients. Cook on low for 8 hours. Makes 12 (1 cup) servings. May garnish with cheese. If needed faster add all ingredients to large pot, cook on medium/high heat for approximately 1 hr.
